As I was doing a bit of research about the various ways in which Miranda is depicted in interpretations of the play as well as in art and movies, I noticed that Miranda was often depicted in white.  This choice presents Miranda as pure and innocent.  Additionally, Miranda is often portrayed with long hair, which was traditionally regarded as a feminine characteristic.  In the movie, whie Miranda does not have long hair, she is still portrayed in a feminine way (makeup, mannerisms, etc.).  These depictions contribute to the presentation of Miranda as a traditional Shakespearian female character.  These depictions also reflect ideas about the ideal woman that were circulating during Shakespeare’s time.
