Going back to Emma, I watched the Emma movie with Gwyneth Paltrow over the break. I really enjoyed the movie. I felt that the romantic and comedic aspects were truly highlighted and brought to life. And, although some scenes were shortened (in particular scenes near the end like when Emma goes to apologize to Ms. Bates for her rude comment), I felt that the overall themes (like the theme of relationships) were very clear in the movie, along with all of the emotions that the characters endured. Also, with the shortening of certain scenes and the ample amount of satire, I didn’t find the movie lagging in any sense. I also thought that Gwyneth Paltrow captured the character of Emma perfectly, from her body language to her tone.
